Inspired by the warm breezes and tropical heat that nourishes the swaying coconut trees in India and Sri Lanka - these gorgeous hand painted necklaces are made of coconut shell and cotton cord.

The motifs are inspired by mythology of the region -

The Monkey pendant: Inspired by the Hanuman langurs. Hanuman, in Hindu mythology, is the monkey commander of the monkey army. His exploits are narrated in the great Hindu Sanskrit poem the Ramayana (“Rama’s Journey”).

The Flower and Vine pendant: Inspired by the Champak flower.
This beautiful, delightfully scented cream-yellow flower is used as an offering in temples and is considered particularly sacred to the Hindu God Krishna.

The Peacocks and The Tree pendant: According to Hindu religious beliefs, the peacock was created from one of the feathers of the mythological bird Garuda. This was a huge majestic bird which carried Lord Vishnu on its back. The tree symbolizes the forest. Forests form the backdrop of many Hindu myths and are sacred spaces in myth and literature.
